Interstellar Isolation was a collective class project for my TV Studio II class during the Fall 2021 semester during my super senior year of college. Our task was to create a TV pilot for a show. Interstellar Isolation follows two aliens: Baracuda (Barry) and Lizard (Liz), who crash land on Earth after fleeing their planet and attempt to masquerade as college students with the help of their human friend Steve. The story/concept was created by Anthony Novellino and the project was directed by my longtime collaborator Mackenzee Warnke. My group was tasked with creating the middle portion of the pilot.
In this scene, Barry, Liz, and Steve find themselves at a frat party where things go sideways real fast. I wrote this scene with input from Patrick Fitzsimmons, served as the boom mic operator alongside Anthony Perrella, edited the scene, and provided the voice of the announcer at the end.
In the following scene, Ryan Davenport – a Phillip DeFranco-inspired character, informs his viewers about the outbreak of the Galbus virus across the world and the President’s downplaying of it on his show The Davenport Report. I wrote, edited, and starred as Ryan Davenport in this scene. I additionally produced the intro and outro music.
The entire pilot was screened at the end of the semester at the Fine Arts theater at ESU. There are plans in place for a larger screening at the college.
