Angels In America: Millennium Approaches – Act One, Scene Eight

This was our third and final project from the Television Production class I took my freshmen year of college. I directed this project. For our third project, we had to collaborate with the college’s theater students to recreate a scene from a play. The overall collaboration between our class and the theater program ultimately ended up being less than stellar but I won’t go any further into that. This was an excerpt from the play Angels In America (Act One, Scene 8 to be specific). For our group, we were the first to go and had only a few days to prepare for this. The production of this project didn’t go as well as we would’ve liked. There’s a lot of flaws in this piece (particularly the lighting and the audio) and there was some miscommunication with our crew that day. We couldn’t fix these problems, as in the class everything has to be done live to disc and we weren’t allowed to fix things in post. Regardless of the problems, we actually ended up having one of the best projects in the class. And also our good friend Justin Fenner along with Emily Gonzales absolutely killed it in this piece. They did great. Hope you enjoy it! Also, the opening and closing music is the instrumental to “We Are Broken” by Paramore.
