A Grand Night of Mario Kart was a gaming tournament and streaming event held by myself, my frequent collaborator Megan Majeski, alongside Erik Darling and Sean Walker. It also served as our final project for the eSports class we took during my super senior year of college. We were tasking with finding or organizing a gaming event, streaming it, and then analyzing the results of the event. We decided to create our own event, a Mario Kart tournament. The event was held on April 1, 2022 during ESU's GameDen Released event, and it was additionally streamed on Twitch. The tournament ended up being a success and we had the most popular room of the night. Erik and Sean set up the stream and the event was streamed on Twitch via Erik's channel (the stream was also mirrored on mine and Sean's respective Twitch channels as well). Megan kept track of the tournament bracket and additionally did photography for the night, and I was the host of the stream and provided color commentary for the races. It was certainly a fun night to say the least. Check out the madness below! Also, if you want me to do commentary for your Twitch stream, I'm available! Go to the contact page and send me an email!
